I recently watched Shut Up and Play The Hits, which brought back all the waves of emotion from LCD Soundsystem’s final concert just over two years ago. In honor of that seminal moment in modern indie rock history, here’s 10 covers of LCD’s greatest tune (and best song of the 2000s)

Come this February, Phish fans might be finding themselves flocking to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in NYC. Starting February 23rd, the new musical, Hands on a Hard Body, will be showing its previews featuring music by Phish’s guitarist Trey Anastasio.

For the past two years, Anastasio, alongside lyricist Amanda Green, has been working on the score for the musical, which is adapted from the documentary of the same name. Though rock and roll music can be a bit different from Broadway scores, Anastasio seems to have been successful. Maybe it was his experience with writing Gamehendge, which has been hailed as a pseudo- rock opera but Anastasio was able to successfully incorporate jazz, bluegrass, funk, folk and Broadway into a unique score for this moving musical. The musical opened in La Jolla, California to rave reviews, particularly for the stunning music. The music, though different for Anastasio, is still said to have a distinct Phish flair to it, which might be enticing to Phish fans.

And now, Stagebuddy.com has listed this show (http://stagebuddy.com/listingdetail.php?lid=10042) with its limited time 40% off promo offer. You can get tickets that are regularly $142 for $79 but only for performances through 4/6/13. So, hurry; you don’t want to miss this show. –TB

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the legendary Phish concert in Dayton, OH. I wasn’t at this show, but I was deep in throes of the Phish at this point in my life and was an active tape trader. Well, let me rephrase that. I was an active tape acquirer. My friend Adam was an active trader. I’d…

R Camp is better than Your Camp!

Planning things at Burning Man is hard, but when I asked my campmates this year to pick a color so we could run around all day shooting rainbow photos - all expectations were exceeded, and together we had one of my favorite days in Black Rock City yet.

ROYGBIV, CMYK, and Greyscale. These are my best friends, and this is how we play.

Yo, you ready to drop that beat… HIT IT

What up TechCrunch, I’m ready to disrupt.
But $2,995, yo that’s kind of messed up.
For a startup crew, that is truly bootstrappin’.
So listen up editors, to my D-list rappin’.
I gots no rhythm, and I gots no rhyme.
But I want to get IN so I’ll spare a bit of time.
And offer you this flow, in exchange for a ticket.
Cuz I’m tongue in sheek, and I hope that you dig it.
TECHnically speakin, my TECHnique is geek-freakin.
With PyroTECHnics shining I’m a TECHnological beacon.
I used to see the Dead, but no I’m not CRUNCHy.
And I don’t wear a sCRUNCHy although I may get the MUNCHies.
And if my luck is like Veruca, or better yet Charlie.
I’ll be cruising golden to Disrupt on my Harley.
No, that’s a lie, I ain’t got no motorbike.
But I have bits and bytes and an app that you’ll like.
We’re set to launch in Oct and we WILL disrupt our space,
So I’m workin-on-net-working, and being-face-to-face.
With Zuck and Biz, and Jessica who is The Shizzzzz,
Better yet the diamond in the rough developer, backslash whois…
C’mon Eric, Peter, Alexia, Josh and the Motley TC Crue.
The NEXT BIG THING will be chillin with you.
My app solves missed connections, so will you solve mine.
Please stoke me with a ticket, cuz its almost CRUNCHtime :)

One TechCrunch Disrupt SF ticket giveaway winner. Congratulations Christopher Cohen. (via techcrunch) Glad to be working with this creative cat!
